The village of Dalgach is located 20km away from Targovishte. Six hundred residents live there , there is a kindergarten with 23 children and a primary school with 50 children. 90% of the inhabitants define themselves as being Bulgarian Mohammedans. They settled here in the early seventies, mainly from the Rhodope and the Pirin regions. Nowadays, 35 years later, they still keep their traditions, customs and crafts.A particular respect is shown for the women, skilled at weaving fleecy coverlets and tufty and ordinary rugs, at making national costumes , at creating beauty and cozy domesticity.
